My name is Gabriela Zeltvayova Lindemulder. I am from Eastern Slovakia. As a teenager I wanted to pursue my dream to become an artist. I was accepted to study art at Secondary School of Industrial / Applied Arts in Kosice, Czechoslovakia.

I continued with my studies at Pedagogical Faculty in Presov of the P. J. Safarik University in Kosice. As a student, I exhibited my Clay Garden Ornamental Sculpture in Bayreuth, Germany. In the summer of 1993 I created Ceramic Reliefs of Blacksmith Scenes for Steel’s Training Center in Medzev, Slovakia. I also visited Italy several times and saw master works of those who influenced me and got a sense of their culture.

In 1994, I finished my studies at the University and right after receiving my master degree in art history and pedagogy, I came to the U.S.A.. I have been primarily working with clients in private residences as a muralist and decorative painter. After over 20 years I returned to my first love of creating clay art.

Finally, in 2018, my ceramic kiln was installed in my home and I have explored, challenged and pushed the boundaries of my chosen media. My bold work is inspired by the natural landscape around me and my family located in Hunterdon County, New Jersey. I am thankful for having my supportive husband Jerry and two sons, Jerry Jr. and Jacob in my life.

At home, in my studio, I continue to experiment with different body type(s) of clays such as sculpture clay and porcelain clays. You can explore my designs in clay here on my online gallery. See examples of my work from delicate to dramatic, buildings from the colonial era to figurative and animal bas - relief collections. In the fall of 2022 my bas - relief of the Red Mill was exhibited at Hunterdon Art Museum in Clinton, New Jersey. In the fall of 2023 my bas-relief of Toshiko Takaezu was exhibited there also.

However, my work wouldn’t end here. I have a need to work with clay. I love how it feels to touch and I love to express my thoughts in clay. There is something Divine about it. Transformation from cold, raw plastic clay; drying, shrinking and firing in the kiln at a temperature over 2000 degrees Fahrenheit. The whole process brings me so much joy and stimulates my mind. However, it is time consuming. For example it takes roughly 12 weeks to create one bas - relief.
